Welcome. I’m Joan Kessler and have been teaching Secondary and College Mathematics for over 30 years. It has been and continues to be an incredible journey starting with chalk, blackboards, and ditto machines, transitioning to markers and whiteboards and beginning LMS’s, and now incorporating the most amazing classroom and distance learning technology, all with student success as my primary goal.

I have always created my own innovative lessons with hands-on activities, notes, and relevant assessments for my students to enhance the curriculum and challenge my students. As a pioneer in online education I created one of the very first interactive online College Algebra courses in the US. Not only were my online students engaged, I created similar digital lessons and activities for my classroom students, engaging them simultaneously in math and technology. This led to one of the most memorable times in my life when I was invited to China in 2000 to receive an award and speak about Technology in Mathematics Education at an International conference. This opportunity combined my love of math, my love of technology, and my love affair with travel. My husband always joked, “Teach math – see the World” as he has joined me exploring Joan’s World of Math.

Now, through TeachersPayTeachers.com, I offer innovative, rigorous, challenging, and often times fun resources in both printable and digital formats.  My resources are not only designed to engage your students and give them the guidance, knowledge, and rigor they need to succeed,  but they are also designed to save you time, letting you shine through as an innovative successful educator.

Whether you are teaching Algebra 1, MultiVariable Calculus 3, or anything in between, you will always find the perfect lesson, unique activity, organizer, or template to enhance and supplement your teaching, enabling your students to achieve their goals and succeed in your classroom.  I also have many templates for non-math teachers, too, enabling them to create organizers, flip books, and digital resources helping all students succeed.
